They came starched, as usual, but when washed with fabric softener, you can really feel how wonderful 1500 thread count can be. My old 1500 thread count egyptian cotton sheets are going in the trash and I'm buying another one like this. The difference between them is amazing - and these from Amazon were half the price!
And, they didn't skimp on quality or materials. A good way to tell you got quality high thread count sheets is what I call "the balloon test." When you have the sheet lying flat on the bed, lift up one edge and get some air under it so it balloons up. It should take a long time to go back down and be flat again. Even better, try it while you are lying in bed, with other covers on the top sheet. Just use your foot to lift the sheet. It should still go down very slowly and support the weight of the covers. (I hope that made sense.) These sheets passed the test.
If you want to sleep in soft, comfortable sheets that don't slide all around like satin or silk - get these sheets. They really are incredible.
