(More customer reviews)We chose this sheet set because we wanted a tasteful pattern in a sheet that would fit our new 16-inch high mattress (mattress covered with a thick mattress pad). The fitted sheet easily fits over our pillowtop mattress and pad. Many of the sheets we found in our online search were too "loud" in their design. But at the same time, we don't want plain sheets. These Croscill Iris sheets are perfect. The pattern is very nice and tasteful and so subtle that it will match a variety of bedroom decors. The quality is good. We weren't expecting miracles for this price, but we were also hoping to not end up with something that would fall apart in 2 years. These sheets are nicely made, have no fraying, stray threads, or any hallmarks of lousy products. I expect they will last quite a while. They are not "soft" in feel, but neither are they rough. I would call them just right, with a smooth texture and good comfort. I would definitely buy them again.
FOLLOWUP: November 2010 -- These sheets have become pilly within 6 months of starting to use them. It's tolerable, but still disappointing.
